The state Department of Health Services has submitted it’s plan to the legislature’s joint finance committee on how to use $36 million in opioid settlement funds. The plan spreads out the money to prevent opioid use disorder, while continuing efforts for harm reduction, treatment and recovery. Fond du Lac County Public Health Services supervisor Michelle Robbins says she hopes Fond du Lac County will receive some of that money. Robbins says Fond du Lac County has used settlement money for Naloxone kits and fentanyl test strips. There were 24 opioid overdose deaths in Fond du Lac County in 2023.
