SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital president Katherine Vergos is stepping down. Vergos is leaving SSM Health in Fond du Lac in May after accepting a job as the market president for CommonSpirit Health in Las Vegas. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve this ministry and this community and am most grateful for all the love and support I have received over the years from SSM Health, the employees, the physicians and the Fond du Lac and Ripon communities,” according to Vergos. “I will forever cherish the time I have spent here. It has shaped so much of who I am as a leader and as a person.” According to a press release Vergos was instrumental in the opening of the new Ripon Community Hospital in 2014 as the chief operating and nursing officer helping to integrate Ripon Community Hospital into Agnesian HealthCare, and then in working to integrate into the larger SSM Health Wisconsin family. “During her tenure as president, Katherine has overseen several important facilities expansions, continuing our focused investment in the communities throughout the Greater Fond du Lac area,” according to Kyle Nondorf, regional vice president, SSM Health Wisconsin vice president, Acute Care Operations. “She led her teams through the challenging days of the COVID pandemic, forging wonderful relationships with community partners that she and her local team have continued to foster.” Recruitment efforts are underway.
