Highway officials are reminding motorists to drive carefully and pay particular attention in highway workzones as the construction season gets underway. Last week was Highway Work Zone Safety Awareness Week in Wisconsin. Fond du Lac County Highway commissioner Tom Janke says “Buckle up, put your phone away and pay attention.” Over the past five years there have been more than 11,000 crashes in Wisconsin work zones causing 63 deaths and more than 43,000 injuries.
