4-23-24 fdl school board approves hiring two elementary school principals

The Fond du Lac School Board has approved the hiring of two elementary school  principals.  Melanie Steinbarth has been promoted to principal at Chegwin Elementary.  Steinbarth is currently the Teacher on Special Assignment at Chegwin.  She replaces Nate Groves who was hired as the new District director of Facilities and Safety.  Steinbarth began her educational career in 2003 as a second grade teacher in New Holstein.  She taught first and second grades at Chegwin from 2005 to 2020.  “The District and Chegwin learning community look forward to Melanie Steinbarth moving into an expanded leadership role,”  superintendent Dr. Jeff Fleig said.  “Her proven leadership and commitment to excellence will continue to propel Chegwin forward.”   Kathy Prozanski will be the new principal at Roberts Elementary starting in August replacing Amy Kunstman who is leaving for the STEM Academy.  Prozanski comes to Fond du Lac from Madison where she was an elementary school principal.  “I am honored and excited to be welcomed into the Fond du Lac School District and the Roberts School community,”  Prozanski said.  “I am excited for the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of the students.”
