5-7-24 child seat safety check

SSM Health Greater Fond du Lac and Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue are teaming up to offer a free child seat safety check.  RN Care manager at the Fond du Lac Regional Clinic OB/GYN Department, Maria Vossekuil, says the event will be held Monday May 13 at the South Main Street Fire Station in Fond du Lac.  Waupun Memorial Hospital emergency room nurse Devan Nehls says the recommendation is that a child should ride in a rear facing seat until the age of two, but that children should be in a rear-facing seat as long as they are in the height and weight requirements of their car seat.   Vossekuil says its concerning that studies show half of child car seats are installed incorrectly.   The free car seat safety check will be held from 4pm to 7pm Monday May 13 at the South Main Street Fire Station in Fond du Lac.  You can pre-register on the SSM Health website.
