Fond du Lac police are continuing to investigate a violent domestic incident that sent an 11 year old boy to the hospital. A 31 year old Fond du Lac man faces multiple charges including Child Abuse-Intentionally Causing Body Harm, in connection with the incident early Monday morning at an East Scott Street apartment. Police Chief Aaron Goldstein says the Dispatch Center initially received a 9-1-1 call where the line remained open with no voice and then disconnected. A dispatcher attempted to call the number back and it went immediately to voice mail. That’s when police officers responded to conduct a welfare check. Chief Goldstein says the incident highlights the importance of 9-1-1 calls, even when they are abandoned. The SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Teams were called to the scene and about three hours later the suspect opened the apartment door and was arrested. Three children inside the apartment were not injured and the 11 year old child who placed the initial 9-1-1 call was transported to the hospital for a serious but non -life-threatening injury. Goldstein says detectives are still investigating the incident.
