A Fond du Lac man convicted in the shooting death of a Fond du Lac man is going to prison for the rest of his life. At a hearing Friday Fond du Lac County Circuit Judge Tricia Walker sentenced 34 year old Timothy Brown to the mandatory life in prison with no possibility for early release. In January Brown was found guilty of First Degree Intentional Homicide in the August 20th, 2022 shooting death of 40 year old Brandon Johnson. The judge described the shooting as an execution style murder and said the death was also a tragedy because Johnson and Brown were friends. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says it was an appropriate sentence. Toney says the shooting followed an argument between Brown and Johnson. Police say Johnson was found dead in the 200 block of Marquette Street with multiple gunshot wounds. Toney says his office is commited to bringing justice to victims of violent crime. The former wife of Johnson, Amber Kilawee, read a statement on behalf of the victim’s family and friends thanking the police department, detectives and district attorney’s office for their efforts to bring justice for Brandon. “We understand justice is not assumed for all victims, so the fact we are standing here with justice is greatly humbling and deeply respected. Our hearts and thoughts are with all of the victims and their families. May they find healing through the pursuit of justice.”
