5-27-24 dodge county sheriff’s office steps up presence at lomira schools following threat

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office stepped up presence at Lomira Schools after a threat was received on the school district’s automated voicemail Friday morning.  According to the Sheriff’s Office the message was vague, did not name the Lomira School District specifically, and the message was more political in nature. The message was regarding a Judge in Utah who gave a light sentence to a subject who was charged and convicted of crimes against children.  In partnership with the Lomira School District, the Sheriff’s Office sent additional deputies to the schools to ensure the safety of staff, students, and the public.   The Sheriff’s Office worked with federal agencies to determine if there was any credible threat involved and found numerous other schools in other states had received the same message in the previous days.  All investigations found there to be no credible threat.  The Sheriff’s Office says if individuals are identified, they will be held accountable for their actions.
