Fond du Lac- State Senator Dan Feyen submitted his nomination papers last week, officially placing his name on the ballot as a Republican candidate for the new 20th Senate District. Feyen collected over 700 signatures from two cities, fifteen villages, and twenty-five townships within the district. A primary election for the Republican nomination is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, August 13th. Feyen expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support from the constituents of the 20th Senate District, stating, “As I travel and meet the new constituents of the 20th Senate District, I am humbled by the support that I am receiving.” He also announced major endorsements for his campaign, including support from 5th District Congressman Scott Fitzgerald, 6th District Congressman Glenn Grothman, and all three Assembly Representatives representing the 20th Senate District: 58th District Rep. Rick Gundrum, 59th District Rep. Rob Brooks, and 60th District Rep. Jerry O’Connor. Additionally, Senator Feyen announced endorsements from all five County Sheriffs of the 20th State Senate District: Sheriff Dale Schmidt of Dodge County, Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt of Fond du Lac County, Sheriff Christy Knowles of Ozaukee County, Sheriff Cory Roeseler of Sheboygan County, and Sheriff Martin Schulteis of Washington County. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney, Washington County District Attorney Mark Bensen, Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann, and Fond du Lac County Executive Sam Kaufman have endorsed the campaign.
