A Winneconne man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash in Fond du Lac County. The crash happened shortly after noon Wednesday on southbound Interstate 41 just south of Townline Road. A preliminary investigation shows a motorcycle veered off onto the gravel shoulder, struck the cable barrier and slid across both lanes of southbound 41 into the ditch. The motorcycle operator, a 56 year old Winneconne man, was not wearing a helmet and was flown by helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah with serious injuries. Failure to maintain control and speed appears to be the factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office. The driver was cited for reckless driving.
