Thousands of people converged on Fond du Lac’s Lakeside Park over the weekend for Walleye Weekend. Fond du Lac Festival’s Pete Wilke says this year mark’s Walleye Weekend’s 45th year as the largest free family-friendly festival in the region. The event was interrupted in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event featured several new attractions this year, including a number of well-known acts to one of three big stages, and some new entertainment as well. Wilke says one of the most popular events was the Walleye Run-Walk on Saturday. The event centers around the Mercury Marine National Walleye Fishing tournament.
