A Wonewoc man involved in a high speed chase after fleeing from his jury trial in Juneau County has been found guilty of possession of child pornography. North Fond du Lac Police Chief Pete Vergos says the case started from a case in the village of North Fond du Lac. Fifty eight year old Harvey Cox was on trial last month in Mauston when he fled the courthouse during a break in the trial. Vergos says Cox’s vehicle was spotted in Dodge County and Cox pulled over on his own and was arrested. A few minutes later, a sheriff’s deputy responding to assist, lost control on the rain-covered road at the intersection of Highway 68 and County Highway A. The deputy received minor injuries when the squad left the road and struck a house. Cox was returned to Juneau County where a jury found him guilty on five counts of possession of child pornography. He is scheduled to be sentenced July 25.
