A Fond du Lac man is in custody following a high speed chase that ended in Washington County. The chase started shortly before 10:30 pm Friday when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle that ran a stop sign on Highway B near Interstate 41. The vehicle fled south at a high rate of speed and eventually crashed in a ditch near Slinger. A passenger tried to flee on foot but was apprehended by a state patrol trooper. The driver, a 32 year old Fond du Lac man, was arrested at gun point. The passenger received injuries running through thick vegetation and was transported to the hospital for treatment. He had a nationwide felony arrest warrant. Some bystander vehicles struck tire deflation devices during the 41 mile long chase and received flat tires.
