For almost 97 years Katherine Halbur has been a devoted Milwaukee Brewers fan. The resident at SSM Health St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac got the opportunity to live out a dream recently when she tossed out the ceremonial first pitch at American Family Field before the Brewers played their rival Chicago Cubs. Brewers president of Business Operations Rick Schlesinger says Katherine is a true Brewers’ superfan. In a nomination letter sent to the Brewers, Katherine’s son wrote that “Katherine is blind, so she can’t actually see the Brewers play, but she listens to every game that she can. It is one of her foremost sources of excitement in life.” Schlesinger says a nominee for the Brewers Superfan spotlight must be a Wisconsin resident who shows an exceptional dedication to the Milwaukee Brewers. He says Katherine Halbur is the epitome of that.
