7-24-24 ssm health hospitals offering walk-in mammograms

SSM Health’s three local hospitals – Ripon Community Hospital, St. Agnes Hospital and Waupun Memorial Hospital – are providing patients another convenience through walk-in mammogram visits. This convenient option gives patients the opportunity to receive mammograms without the need for a prior appointment and without a provider’s order.
Walk-in mammogram visits just require that women are over 40 years of age, have no current breast concerns, no breast cancer diagnosis within the last year and no prior mammograms performed within the last year. Walk-ins are available Mondays through Fridays, excluding major holidays, from 8 am – 4 pm at Ripon Community Hospital, and from 7 am – 3 pm at St. Agnes Hospital and Waupun Memorial Hospital.
Annual breast screening exams offer a range of benefits, including:
  1. Early Detection: Detecting breast cancer in its early stages increases the chances of successful treatment and improves overall outcomes.
  2. Improved Survival Rates: Regular screenings contribute to higher survival rates by identifying potential issues early and enabling timely interventions.
  3. Peace of Mind: Regular screenings provide reassurance and peace of mind, promoting emotional well-being and proactive health management.
  4. Empowerment: By taking charge of their breast health through annual screenings, women empower themselves to make informed decisions and take proactive steps towards early detection and prevention.
  5. Annual breast screening exams play a vital role in detecting breast cancer at its earliest stages when it is most treatable. SSM Health recognizes the significance of regular screenings and seeks to make this preventive exam more accessible and convenient for our community.
  6. By offering walk-in mammogram visits, SSM Health hopes to remove barriers and encourage women to prioritize their own breast health
