The Waupun mayor says it’s still uncertain whether the community will be eligible for money from the Wisconsin Disaster Fund to recoup costs incurred from last month’s flood. Mayor Rohn Bishop says a federal disaster declaration has not been issued, and emergency management directors are working with Dodge and Fond du Lac County officials to determine if Waupun meets the threshold for the Wisconsin Disaster Fund. Bishop says during the flood 25 dumpsters were ordered that hauled away 96 tons of waste, Public Works crews are still making repairs to the driveway at Shaler Park and evaluating infrastructure that has remained under water. He says roadways and bridges cannot be assessed until floodwaters recede.
