The Fond du Lac County Jail Ad Hoc committee held it’s first meeting last week. The committee was formed to explore options for a new or expanded jail. County Board supervisor and committee member Tom Dornbrook, says Dr. George Koonce from Marian University was named committee chair and board supervisor Dean Will was named vice chair. The county has purchased land for a new jail near the county Highway Garage on Hickory Road. Dornbrook says whatever recommendation the committee makes it won’t be inexpensive. The committee will hold it’s next meeting at the end of August.
