The call volume for Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue continues to climb to record levels. Last year the Department received nearly 8,000 calls for service. Fire Chief Erick Gerritson says it’s concerning that the number of false alarms has steadily increased over the last five years from just over 300 in 2020 to nearly 450 last year. Gerritson presented the Department’s proposed 2025 budget at last week’s council meeting. Gerritson says budget items include Station 4 design, a new ambulance, fire engine and cardiac monitors.
