A Ripon man charged in a drug overdose death in Fond du Lac County has been convicted. Eighteen year old Maison Springston has pleaded guilty to First Degree Reckless Homicide for his role in an April 7, 2023 fentanyl overdose death in the City of Ripon. A pre-sentence investigation report was ordered and the sentencing hearing will be scheduled at a later date. A status conference has been set for October 10 at 1:30. Springston is one of five defendants charged in relation to the drug death. The other four have plea hearings scheduled for this month.
- Co-defendant Olivia Nordvold is scheduled for a plea hearing August 2
- Co-defendant Donavyn Mueller is scheduled for a motion hearing on August 2 and a jury trial to commence on August 6.
- Co-defendant Joseph Schmidt-Rehbein is scheduled for a plea hearing on August 5 and a jury trial on September 9.
- Co-defendant Michael Manske is scheduled for a plea hearing on August 6.
