8-16-24 wisconsin unemployment rate up slightly in july

Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is up slightly in the latest reporting period.  The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development reported Thursday the statewide unemployment rate for July was three percent, up from 2.9 percent in June and 1.3 percent below the national rate of 4.3 percent.  The number of people employed increased 1,300 over the month to a record 3,049,700.
