A lot has changed since 2019, but when it comes to what is killing most Americans, heart disease and cancer still top the list. That according to a new report of the top ten causes of death from 2019 to 2023. Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller the top causes of death including most heart disease and stroke deaths are preventable. The report also found that deaths from drug overdoses and drinking are rising, but deaths by suicide had fallen out of the top ten leading causes of death by 2023.
