Groundbreaking ceremonies were held Wednesday afternoon for a new music stage at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds. County executive Sam Kaufman says the new stage is expected to be completed before the end of the year. “If you’re sitting in the grandstands you would be facing the front of the stage,” Kaufman told WFDL news. “…the wings would come out at an angle. One wing would be going northwest, the other would be heading southwest.” The National Exchange Bank Foundation is donating $300,000 for naming rights for the new stage. The city of Fond du Lac is paying $375,000 for construction of the stage. The county is spending $600,000 on the project.
