September is Preparedness Month. Fond du Lac County Emergency Management director John Ross says it serves as a reminder of the importance of planning and preparing for possible emergencies we may face. Ross says emergencies can range from a fire in your home to natural disasters such as flooding or tornadoes, and man-made disasters. Ross says develop a family emergency plan of what to do in the event an emergency or disaster forces you to remain at home for several days, or you’re forced to leave your home. Create an emergency supply kit. Review and update your insurance and stay informed.
