9-20-24 fdl city council reviews budget

The Fond du Lac city manager says a proposed budget makes investments in housing in a way the city has not done before.   The Fond du Lac city council this week discussed the budget during a special meeting.   City manager Joe Moore says the the city’s capital improvement plan includes a couple of investments designed to spur housing development.  “We hear from developers the cost of infrastructure meaning water, sewer, storm sewer, and streets with curb and gutter are prohibitively expensive,”  Moore told WFDL news.  “We’ve proposed in a couple of different areas that we will fund some infrastructure investment in a couple of different housing developments for that reason.”   Moore says one of the big street projects will be done in a couple of phases on South Main Street.
