9-26-24 local unemployment rate drops

The local unemployment rate was down last month after a temporary spike the month before  in Fond du Lac County.  The August unemployment rate in Fond du Lac County was 2.9 percent, down from 4.7 percent in July.  The city of Fond du Lac’s jobless rate fell from 6.9 to 3.8 percent in August.  The jump in July was attributed to temporary layoffs at Mercury Marine and layoffs at Spectrum Charter Communications.  The Dodge County unemployment rate dropped three-tenths of a percent to 2.5 percent last month.
