9-27-24 sandi paws rescue of wisconsin featured in national challenge

FOND DU LAC – Sandi Paws Rescue, a state-wide all-volunteer animal rescue organization based in Fond du Lac, has been selected to participate in a live fundraising challenge by the Florida-based organization Jordan’s Way.  Jordan’s Way founder Kris Rotonda will be in Fond du Lac 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, to help Sandi Paws raise money to aid its efforts to serve the needs of countless rescue dogs and cats. The event will be livestreamed on Sandi Paws Facebook page, but the public is invited to the FDL County Fairgrounds Recreation Center to watch the fun, learn more about Sandi Paws or donate.  The evening will include a series of challenges featuring Sandi Paws volunteers. Teams will compete in fun events as donors, Sandi Paws alumni and community members sponsor their efforts.  “It is an honor to be selected by Jordan’s Way,” says Sandi Paws Founder and CEO Victoria Timreck. “They usually work with shelters, and we don’t have a shelter facility. We are 100 percent volunteer and foster-home based.”  To that end, Sandi Paws relies on volunteers and donations to take care of the needs of the animals it brings into rescue. “So to have an organization like Jordan’s Way come in and help us is a big deal for us. We hope businesses and individuals will sponsor the challenges through matching funds and our community will tune into the livestream on Oct. 5 to watch and donate.”

Sandi Paws Rescue, a foster-home based dog and cat rescue, celebrated its 10th anniversary this month. In the past decade the organization has rescued and found secure homes for nearly 8,000 animals. Victoria Timreck founded Sandi Paws in honor and memory of her service dog Sandi. For more information visit the Sandi Paws website: sandipaws.org.

Jordan’s Way shares the stories of local shelters and rescues to raise awareness, boost fundraising and inspire people to adopt rescue animals. The organization focuses on smaller rescues and shelters that typically don’t benefit from large community support or benefactors.
