9-27-24 expanded sculpture collection in waupun

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held next week celebrating an expanded sculpture collection in Waupun.  City administrator Kathy Schlieve says under the leadership of local business owner and Waupun Area School District art teacher, Jeni Maly, five new sculptures, with an historical connection to Waupun have been erected in the downtown this past summer.  Maly’s non-profit is focused on expanding sculpture exhibits in Waupun through an affiliation with the Eau Claire Sculpture Tour to bring rotating art exhibits to Waupun.  The Waupun Common Council committed $5,000 in room tax money to help with the cost.   Schlieve describes the project as a game-changer for the community.  A ribbon cutting will be held October 5 to celebrate the new art installations and the  grand opening of a food truck alley, funded in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
