10-22-24 weak la nina winter predicted-what will that mean for wisconsin?

Fall is in full swing, but it’s not too soon to look ahead to winter, especially one that could feel considerably different than last year’s dominated by El Nino.   NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center reports there is a 60 percent chance that a weak La Nina will develop this autumn and could last until March.  National Weather Service meteorologist Mark Gehring says he doesn’t think that will have a major impact on Wisconsin’s winter.  “There’s fairly high probability that we’re going to have a normal to above normal winter with temperatures,” Gehring told WFDL news.  “This La Nina, it’s too weak and it’s too brief, so I just don’t think it will have much effect on our winter.”  “We’ll certainly still get more snow than last winter, but it will still be normal to below normal.”
