10-29-24 fdl county da says recent drug overdose case is another example of need to control southern border

The Fond du Lac County District Attorney says a recent drug overdose case is another example for the need to control the southern border to end the flow of illegal drugs into our communities.   A Fond du Lac man was recently convicted of providing the fentanyl that led to the death of another Fond du Lac man nearly four years ago.  Fond du Lac County  District Attorney Eric Toney says deadly fentanyl has poured across the southern border and is continuing to destroy families and communities.  Toney says a signficant increase in fentanyl trafficking locally started during the COVID pandemic.  Today, Toney says local law enforcement continue to take large quantities of fentanyl off the street.  “We’re seeing quantities taken off the street that we would have never seen in our community before.  That’s just how easy it is for these drugs to come across the border,”  Toney told WFDL news.
