Republicans were winners in several area legislative races in Tuesday’s election. Republican state senator Dan Feyen of Fond du Lac was elected to the District 20 state senate seat. “It was a tough race. We fought and we won,” Feyen told WFDL news. Republican state representative Jerry O’Connor of Fond du Lac was elected to the 60th Assembly District seat. “I felt comfortable with my race based upon the district that I represent,” O’Connor told WFDL news. “I’m extremely thankful for all the people that have worked for my campaign and frankly worked for the Republican party in Fond du Lac.” Republican state representative Mark Born of Beaver Dam defeated Democrat LaToya Bates for the 37th Assembly District seat, which includes portions of Dodge and Fond du Lac counties. Republican Lindee Brill was the winner in the 27th Assembly District race which covers portions of Sheboygan and Fond du Lac counties. Alex Dallman of Green Lake was the winner for the 39th Assembly District seat and Robert Brooks of Saukville won the 59th Assembly District race. Republican congressman Glenn Grothman was reelected to another two year term.
