The Fond du Lac County Clerk says a post election audit shows the voting machines performed properly on Election Day. Wisconsin law requires a post-election audit of voting systems used in Wisconsin after each General Election and Fond du Lac County was randomly selected to participate in the audit. County Clerk Lisa Freiberg says a hand count of paper ballots is compared to the election night voting system results. Audit materials are then submitted to the Wisconsin Elections Commission for review. For this election, the WEC is auditing voting equipment from a 10 percent random sample of the reporting units statewide, including Fond du Lac County.
