12-3-24 second person convicted in shooting death of fdl man

A second man has been convicted in the shooting death of a Fond du Lac man. As part of a plea agreement Eric Perry pleaded no contest to Second Degree Intentional Homicide as a repeater and Armed Robbery in the shooting death of Benzel Rose.  District Attorney Toney stated “The City of Fond du Lac Police Department performed an excellent investigation leading to today’s convictions and justice for the family and friends of Benzel Rose. Fond du Lac is a beautiful community and we will continue to work with law enforcement to aggressively prosecute violence and gun crime in our community.”   A sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 25.   Julius Freeman was earlier convicted of First Degree Intentional Homicide and Armed Robbery and sentenced to life in prison.
