Snow-covered, slippery roads contributed to dozens of automobile crashes on area roads Wednesday afternoon and evening and Thursday morning including a fatal two-vehicle crash on Highway 26. According to the State Patrol a 59 year old Waupun man was killed when a semi crossed the center line of Highway 26 ner Hickory Road and struck a van. The crash happened early Thursday morning. Rescue personnel were called to reports of rollover crashes, vehicles in the ditch, and at least a couple of crashes involving injuries as strong winds created blowing and drifting snow and icy conditions on area roadways.
