Fond du Lac, Wisc.: Moraine Park Technical College will hold its third annual Winter Commencement Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. More than 300 Graduate candidates are expected to gather at the Fond du Lac conference center to celebrate this momentous occasion. The bi-annual Moraine Park commencement ceremony is supported by motivational messages from three inspiring individuals: a Moraine Park community partner serving as the keynote speaker, an alumnus and a student. This year’s keynote speaker is Mike Phelan, President and CEO of BCI Burke. Phelan has been with the company since 2012, serving as Vice President of Operations before becoming CEO in 2014. Under his leadership, Burke has achieved significant growth through product innovation, workforce development, and operational transformation. Phelan holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in engineering management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. The alumni speaker, Carrie Kasubaski, serves as Moraine Park’s Vice President of Finance and Administration. Kasubaski has a deep connection to the College, having transitioned from student to faculty and now to an administrative leadership role. Her commitment to fostering student success and supporting Moraine Park’s mission exemplifies her dedication to higher education and the community. The student speaker is Charles Dreher III, a student in the CNC/Tool and Die Technologies program who is set to graduate with an Associate of Applied Sciences degree in May 2025. Dreher’s passion for CNC machining began in high school, leading to his active involvement in the Moraine Park community. His roles include serving as CNC Club president, District Student Government president, and Wisconsin Student Government executive board parliamentarian. He was also named the 2024-25 MPTC District Student Ambassador. Moraine Park’s Winter Commencement Ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of its graduates and recognize the support of family, friends, and the greater community.
