12-18-24 fdl school board votes to place operations referendum on april ballot

The Fond du Lac School Board has made it official to place an operations referendum on the spring election ballot.  At a special meeting Tuesday night the board approved asking voters for permission to spend $10 million each year for four years, with any  surpluses in the first two years used to fund security upgrades.  The tax impact would be $124 for a $200,000 home or $186 a year for a $300,000 home.   Chief of Finance and Operations Mike Gerlach says if the referendum fails the District would have to make an estimated $7 million to $9 million in cuts and says the first area the District would have to look at is staffing.
