Nobody was injured in a fire that significantly damaged a town of Oakfield home. Shortly before 7:30 pm Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Oak Center Road where the fire had spread to the attic. The fire started in a wood pellet stove on an outside wall. The owners of the property are Jean and Charles Lund. The Sheriff’s Office and Oakfield Fire Department were assisted by the Sheriff’s Office Communications Center and Alliant Energy. The following Fire Departments assisted at the scene: Oakfield 1 st Responders, Brownsville Fire Department, Lamartine Fire Department, Lifestar Ambulance, and RIT Team 4.
