1-17-25 thelma sadoff center for the arts names new executive director

Fond du Lac, WI – January 16, 2025 – Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts (THELMA) is excited to announce the appointment of Jamie Leigh Pitts as its new Executive Director.
Pitts stepped into her role effective January 2nd. She brings her extensive experience in arts leadership, nonprofit management, community engagement and a passionate
vision to continue THELMA’s legacy as a premier art rooted in community and as a signature destination in the region.  Pitts will succeed Shannon Kupfer, who has served as THELMA’s Executive Director and Curator since 2021. During her tenure, Kupfer led THELMA through significant milestones,  including overseeing successful visual arts exhibitions and programs. While she will continue to work with THELAM as the curator of visual arts exhibitions, her legacy as a community arts leader will have a lasting impact for years to come.  “We are deeply grateful for Shannon’s dedication and impactful leadership,” said Kate Candee, President of THELMA’s Board of Directors. “She has positioned THELMA for continued growth and success, and we are thrilled that she will remain part of our team in a part-time capacity, focusing as curator.”  The transition marks an exciting new chapter for THELMA, as the organization continues to thrive as a vibrant center for visual arts, music, and community engagement.  Pitts shared her enthusiasm for joining THELMA, stating, “I am excited to join THELMA at a moment of great potential. The organization is a beloved gem to the Fond du Lac community, our programs have deep roots with our members, and I am excited to honor the history of this space as we continue to build something essential to support the artists and arts enthusiasts in this community.”
THELMA will continue to offer a dynamic calendar of art experiences. “Everyone is welcome to explore our visual arts galleries, enjoy music concerts, listen to literary arts
readings, learn from our workshops, appreciate theatre productions, and more,” shared Pitts. “My vision is to continue these programs and make THELMA an art center that
members can call home, and serve as a destination where regional guests can stop in to enjoy a nice visit within our community.”
