The Waupun Common Council has approved the purchase of three vehicles: for public works, the fire and police departments. Mayor Rohn Bishop says the city is purchasing a new aerial ladder truck for the fire department at a cost of about $2 million. The police department is replacing a squad car damaged in a crash. “A police officer was pulled over in front of the Catholic Church on West Main Street and a pickup truck for whatever reason was driving down the parking lane and squared up and hit the back of the police car hard enough to push it about two parking stalls forward,” Bishop told WFDL news. “Luckily our police officer was fine.” Bishop says a Public Works truck is also being replaced.
