Republican congressman Glenn Grothman says he supports president Trump’s swift executive orders issued almost immediately after he was sworn into office. Grothman says he supports sending active duty troops to the US-Mexico border, and the president’s immigration enforcement plan. Grothman admits he’s concerned about the president’s planned tariffs. “I’m glad when I see people who are close to president Trump who hopefully will weigh in a little bit on that who are not that pro-tariff,” Grothman told WFDL news. “He does have some people in his administration who will advise him against going overboard on that sort of thing.” Grothman says he wasn’t totally surprised Trump pardoned everyone who was convicted in connection with the January 6th riot at the US Capitol. “Well he said he was going to do it so I guess we shouldn’t be surprised,” Grothman said. “I think it would have been okay if he had left a few off the list. There certainly were the vast majority of people who were pardoned who should have been pardoned.” Grothman says he also supports the president’s decision to withdraw the US from the World Health Organization. “Given what a horrible job the medical establishment did with COVID you don’t want to have our health policies almost obligated follow the World Health Organization, which has a bias toward bossing people around,” Grothman said.”
