A woman convicted of killing a man in Green Bay has been ordered to undergo a competency exam regarding charges of attacking workers at the Taycheeda women’s prison. Taylor Schabusiness appeared in Fond du lac County Circuit Court Friday for a preliminary hearing. She’s charged with battery by a prisoner at Taycheedah Correctional Institution. According to a criminal complaint last July Schabusiness attacked a prison sergeant who was providing medical care for a staple in her arm. The sergeant used pepper spray to subdue Schabusiness. Following a struggle both were transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries. Schabusiness is serving a life sentence for killing and dismembering Shad Thyrion at his Green Bay home in 2022.
