Nobody was injured in a chimney fire in Waupun. Shortly before 10:30am Monday firefighters were called to the Tom Clark residence on Cortes Road to find flames visible from the chimney. The residents were out of the house and the fire was contained to the chimney and quickly extinguished. The occupants were able to return to the home once fire operations were completed. Lifestar EMS assisted on scene with firefighter rehab and the Dodge County Emergency Response Team (DCERT) assisted with traffic control. The Waupun Fire Department reminds citizens of the importance and benefits of having working smoke detectors in your home and would also like to remind everyone of the importance of having your chimney cleaned and inspected annually.
