The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating an officer involved shooting in Fond du Lac County. A Fond du Lac County sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a town of Fond du Lac man while the Sheriff’s Office was serving a search warrant on the man. According to a press release the man had a felony warrant for his arrest. When deputies located him in the 600 block of Cherrywood Drive he refused repeated commands and one deputy discharged a non-lethal weapon. When the man produced what deputies believed was a gun, another deputy shot the suspect who was pronounced dead at a hospital. The deputy has been placed on administrative assignment.
