The secret to staying sharp as you age?  You are what you eat.   The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has a list of the best foods to boost brain health and memory.  Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says at the top of the list is fatty fish.   Berries, especially blueberries,  are packed with antioxidants.  Turmeric is a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound that could benefit people with alzheimer’s.  Broccoli, whole grains and citrus fruits are on the list.  Dark chocolate, dark, leafy greens, beans, coffee and green tea have brain healthy benefits.  Rounding out the list…walnuts, avocados and olive oil.
