The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says alcohol appears to be a factor in a fatal head on collision over the weekend. The crash happened shortly before 2 am Saturday when a southbound vehicle on Highway 26 near Nietman Road crossed over the center line striking a commercial straight truck head on. The driver of the vehicle, 20 year old Alexa Dunn of Menominee Falls, was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver, 64 year old Michael May of Randolph, received minor injuries. Highway 26 was closed between CTH-TC and Highway 151 for approximately four hours for emergency response operations and the investigation by the Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team.
Assisting agencies included the City of Waupun Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Waupun County Fire Department, Lifestar Emergency Medical Service, and the Fond du Lac County Highway Department.
