The Fond du Lac County Board has hired a consultant as the county continues to explore it’s options for a new jail or justice center. At their meeting Tuesday night the board approved a resolution to hire The Samuels Group consulting firm to assist the county evaluation for construction of a new jail and or renovation of the existing jail. County executive Sam Kaufman says at this point he wants to make it clear that nothing has been decided. He says a full-blown justice center estimated at a cost of close to $400 million seems unrealistic.
