3-25-25 harry manx at thrasher opera house

Green Lake, Wis. (March 24, 2025) – Harry Manx, a prolific musician blending Indian folk melodies, slide guitar blues, gospel influences, and compelling grooves—making
him a standout performer will play Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake, Wisconsin on Thursday, May 01, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the show are $35 and available at
www.thrasheroperahouse.com.  Harry Manx has been called an “essential link” between East and West, blending blues traditions with the depth of classical Indian ragas. Born on the Isle of Man and raised in Canada, he honed his craft busking across Europe, Japan, India, and Brazil before embarking on a five-year apprenticeship with Grammy-winning Rajasthani musician Vishwa Mohan Bhatt. Bhatt gifted him the Mohan Veena, a 20-string sitar-guitar hybrid, which became central to his hypnotic, East-meets-West sound. Manx has released nine albums in eight years, earning seven Maple Blues Awards, five Juno nominations, and worldwide acclaim. His solo performances, featuring the Mohan Veena, lap steel, harmonica, stomp box, and banjo, pull audiences into “the Harry Zone” with warm vocals and haunting melodies. Describing his music as a bridge between the meditative nature of Indian ragas and the celebratory energy of Western blues, Manx’s unique “mysticssippi” style continues to captivate listeners, as Bruce Springsteen once noted, “I feel like I learned something new.” Adams Rib of Green Lake sponsors the show. This event is supported in part by grants from the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, the Green Bay Packers Foundation, and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
