(Fond du Lac, WI) – Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts (THELMA) is proud to announce Perspectives 2025 featuring the remarkable work of over 70 artists from the Wisconsin Visual Artists (WVA) group. An opening reception is planned for Saturday, March 29th from 1 – 3 PM that will feature juror remarks and musical entertainment.  71 artworks will take over two floors of THELMA Galleries showcasing a wide range of artistic mediums, styles, and perspectives. Visitors can expect to experience contemporary works from emerging and established artists, reflecting the depth and innovation found within WVA’s membership.  Founded in 1900, Wisconsin Visual Artists is one of the oldest arts organizations in the country, with a mission to support and promote visual artists across Wisconsin. WVA is well-known for their Wisconsin Artists Biennial exhibition held at the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend. THELMA Galleries Curator Shannon Kupfer has worked with the group to offer the exhibition Perspectives at Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts to bring a similar celebration to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.  “It’s an honor to work with the Wisconsin Visual Artists for the second year. This long-standing artist
group has such diverse talent that we are proud to host in THELMA Galleries,” said Thelma Galleries Curator Shannon Kupfer. “When any guest walks through this exhibition, they are sure to find something unique that sparks inspiration.”  Perspectives 2025 is a highly competitive exhibition juried by Kate Mothes and Fred Stonehouse. Kate
Mothes is an independent art writer and curator based in the Fox Valley. She is the founder of Young  Space (yngspc.com) and its sibling project Dovetail (dovetailmag.com), with a small gallery called The Niche within Standard Projects in Hortonville, Wisconsin. Fred Stonehouse is an internationally recognized artist who is currently an Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing at the University of  Wisconsin. His solo exhibition No Agenda opened at Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend on March 15th of this year.
“As the new Executive Director of THELMA, my vision is to continue to support dynamic arts programs that support our local arts economy and connect our community to prominent arts leaders and artists from the region at large,” said Jamie Pitts, Executive Director at THELMA. “Hosting exhibitions like Perspectives with the WVA, or the Wisconsin Poet Laureate Brenda Cárdenas later in April are the first of many regional connections that will be made at THELMA.”

Perspectives will be on view from March 28th through May 9th, 2025. The opening reception on Saturday, March 29th from 1-3 PM will offer a special opportunity to hear juror remarks at 2PM, meet many of the featured artists, and celebrate the achievements of Wisconsin Visual Artists group.

THELMA invites all art lovers, collectors, and supporters of local culture to visit this stunning exhibition during gallery hours, Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (and during special events).  For more information, visit thelmaarts.org or contact us at info@thelmaarts.org.
