3-27-25 dodge county animal cruelty case

Two Dodge County residents have been arrested in an animal mistreatment case.   Forty seven year old James Dettloff and 31 year old Tashina Dettloff are being held in the Dodge County Jail on animal cruelty charges. A sheriff’s deputy found a severely malnourished dog in the garage of a town of Elba residence. The 2 year old female poodle mix later died at a vet clinic. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division requested a forensic necropsy on the dog.  It was determined that the dog was severely emaciated and died as a result of chronic starvation.
