3-28-25 fdl county clerk surprised at low number of in-person absentee voters locally

While statewide turnout for early voting is far exceeding levels from another high-stakes election two years ago, that’s not the case in Fond du Lac County.  Fond du Lac County clerk Lisa Freiberg says early in-person absentee voting locally is much lower than she anticipated.  “So are we going to be very busy on election day?  Town of Fond du Lac has seen an uptick, but it’s not the numbers that we saw in November. The numbers just are not there in Fond du Lac County,”  Freiberg told WFDL news.  Freiberg says traditionally Fond du Lac County residents like to vote at the polls, but says the lower number of absentee votes is surprising.
