Waupun is listed as one of the safest cities in the state according to a new report. The report compiled by Backgroundchecks.org lists Waupun the 16th safest city in Wisconsin, and the only community in Fond du lac County in the top 50. Fond du Lac was number 62 on the list. Cedarburg, Monroe, Grafton, New Berlin and Mequon round out the top five safest cities in the state. The report was compiled using a statistical calculation of every city’s latest violent crime rate, property crime rate, and number of law enforcement officers employed on a per capita basis.
